Gods & Monsters Game

The same team who worked on Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is working on a new IP known as Gods & Monsters. Within the game, players will take on the role of a young boy who is the world’s last chance when it comes to defeating a horrible monster known as Typhon. The gods have been defeated but has supplied our protagonist with the tools needed to face against the monsters that flock the lands. One of the elements you likely see right away that the visuals of the game look similar to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Likewise, this game is going to be set within an open world that is not only filled with mythical creatures to fight but dungeons to clear and puzzles to solve.

Gods & Monsters gameplay and features

While we haven't seen proper gameplay footage yet, we have a few ideas of what to expect from this action-adventure title.

• The entire world is designed to look like it was painted.
• The big bad of the game is Typhon, who has defeated the Olympian pantheon.
• Your ultimate goal is to save the gods and goddesses of the pantheon from Typhon.
• You can earn different godly abilities themed after the different deities of Olympus.
• Confirmed mythological monsters include Gorgons, Hydras, Cyclops and what appears to be Harpies.

Is Gods & Monsters open world?

Yes, Gods & Monsters is an open world game set in the Isle of the Blessed, the islands the stories of Greek heroes are usually set in. This archipelago is filled with places to explore. Beautiful grassy fields and hills hide monsters, puzzles and dungeons.

Will Gods & Monsters be enhanced for PlayStation 5?

Yes. As one of the games delayed by Ubisoft, part of the additional polish Gods & Monsters is receiving will see it enhanced for the PlayStation 5. In an earnings call, Ubisoft confirmed that all five games it is currently planning to release from April 2020 to March 2021 will be available on both current and next-generation consoles, meaning Gods & Monsters will take advantage of PlayStation 5 hardware.

Gods & Monsters release date

Originally set to release on February 25, 2020, Gods & Monsters was one of the many games delayed by Ubisoft last year. According to Ubisoft's Q4 2020 financial report, Gods & Monsters is now currently scheduled to release sometime after July 1 but before March 31, 2021. It's coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC (through Uplay and Uplay+), Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch and Stadia.
